CPS Style 2108S combines twisted graphite tape with a carbon reinforcement yarn to create a flexible braided graphite spool packing with increased extrusion resistance and higher pressure capability. Typical braided packings, including graphite filament types, present possible leak paths between the braids. In contrast, Style 2108S forms a homogeneous mass under gland pressure, so that leakage cannot penetrate the set.
CPS Style 2108S unique construction increase extrusion resistance, thus eliminating the need for separate anti-extrusion rings. The increased extrusion resistance also increases the maximum pressure rating without end rings.
